Day 58: Sunday

Hey! Since I went to work yesterday I got to sleep in today which was awesome! 
For breakfast around 11am I had half a lean body shake, not really too hungry right now. 

4:15pm: At around 3pm I had a pumpkin 'pie' shake. I don't know what it is today but I'm just way too lazy to cook. Don't worry I'm making dinner tonight! 

9:10pm: At 4:45pm I had an ounce of almonds. I went to the Light The Night Walk for Leukemia & Lymphoma earlier and got home at around 8:30pm. As soon as I got in the door I rushed to prepare some food because I was pretty hungry. Tonight my mom made chicken tacos, they were so good. My chicken portion was 5.4oz, I know it was over 5oz but I was so hungry! I put tomato salsa and avocado on my tacos. The taco 'shells' are radicchio.


I'm so tired right now. Tomorrow I'll be taking my 60 day pictures to show my progress. Can't wait to post those.

Day 57: Saturday

Good afternoon! Sorry for the late update today! I woke up at 8, got ready for work, then flew out the door because I have a really busy day ahead of me. I had a shake for breakfast. 

I just got home from grocery shopping, at work today I had an ounce of almonds. my mom made lunch today so I'm having a late meal right now. She sauteed shrimp with onion and tomato. I served it with steamed collard greens and 1/4 slice of a hass avocado. My shrimp portion was 3.2oz.



I didn't think I would ever say this but, I think I'm starting to get sick of collard greens. Maybe I should stop eating them so much. I don't know!

9:40pm: At around 6pm I had 2 ounces of raw almonds and at 9pm I had 4.4oz of chicken with a steamed head of broccoli.

Day 56: Friday

Good morning! Right now I'm having a shake for breakfast before I go to work.
After I get home from work I'm probably going to eat something then go up to NH to see Courtney. I'll try to update when I'm up there! 

12:20pm: Right now I'm eating some leftovers from last night. 3.2oz of steak with some collard greens and raw spinach.




3:30pm: At around 3pm I had a vanilla chai with skim from Dunkin Donuts.

10pm: So I just got home from New Hampshire. Courtney and I went to Chipotle for dinner tonight. My order was kind of bland but it was good. I got a salad with chicken, peppers, onions, and mild salsa. No dressing.

Day 55: Thursday Weigh In

Good afternoon! I woke up a little late today and had a lean body shake for breakfast at around 9:30am.

I went to training a lot earlier than usual, I started at around 11am.

Weights:

Squats: 
We changed the depth on the rack from 8 from 7. That basically means I have to squat lower now, so we lowered the weight a little bit for me to adjust.
85x10
95x10
100x10 -35lbs +1 level lower on the rack

Lunges:
50x6x3 +10lbs

Crunches:
5x20x2 no increase

WEIGH IN TIME! So last Thursday I was at 259lbs, this week I was at 255lbs. The scale was at 254.5 but I prefer my weight to be a whole number so let's call it 255lbs. Woohoo!



Around 15 minutes ago I had a pumpkin pie shake. I wasn't really too hungry, but I plan on eating again at around 2:30pm.

3:30pm: Right now I'm eating 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. 

7:20pm: Dinner time! Tonight I made grilled steak and steamed collard greens. My steak portion was 4oz. I served everything with a 1/4 slice of avocado.

Day 54: Wednesday

Good morning! Right now I'm having a lean body shake before I go to work.

11:35am: I'm eating my 'lunch' at the moment, I wasn't too hungry when I got home so I grabbed half of an avocado and went to work on it.

2:05pm: I have training in like 25 minutes. WHAT SHOULD I MAKE FOR DINNER TONIGHT?! Mushrooms? Fish? Green beans? HMMMM..

4:15pm: Got home from training not too long ago.

Weights:

One arm rows:
55x10x3 (no pulling/pain in my upper arm this week) +5lbs

Pull-ups:
2 thick black bands
x10, x8, and x7 (I actually had my chin meet the bar on all of these.) +2 reps from last set

Deadlift: 
140x10x3 +5lbs

Barbell curl:
87.5x10x3 +2.5lbs

Right now I'm having half a cup of cottage cheese with 1tbsp of chia seeds.

8pm: So for dinner tonight I made almond coated cod, garlic sauteed mushrooms, and steamed green beans. (You don't really want me to write up how to steam green beans, do you?) My cod portion was 5oz.



I decided to make a blog that has write ups of the foods that I make that aren't simple like steaming vegetables or something.
I've had a few friends ask how I make some things so I just wanted to put it out there for everyone to see I guess.
The blog name isn't as cool as this one but I tried! Character limits are the worst.

Day 53: Tuesday

Good morning! I just cooked 1/3 cup of egg whites and served it with some raw spinach.
2:45pm: I just got home from work. At around 12:15pm I had half of a shake for lunch. 

7:15pm: At 3:10pm I had half a cup of cottage cheese and at around 4:30pm I had an ounce of cashews/almonds.
I'm going to make myself dinner soon. 

7:50pm: For dinner tonight I made grilled chicken and steamed broccoli then served it with a small slice of avocado. My chicken portion was 3.5oz.

Day 52: Monday

Good morning. Right now I'm having a shake for breakfast before I head out for work.

12:30pm: At around 11:45 I had some leftover 'tacos' from last night for lunch with half of a hass avocado.
My beef portion was 4.8oz.



4:20pm: Just getting home from training, I'm eating a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese with 1 tbsp of chia seeds mixed in for some fiber/protein.

7:35pm: Just finished eating dinner. I made stir fry with onion, green pepper, broccoli, some garlic, 2tsp of coconut aminos, and chicken. My chicken portion was 4.8oz. I couldn't finish all of it.

Day 51: Sunday

Good morning. Right now I'm just updating before I go to work. I haven't eaten anything yet but I might have a shake, I'm not really feeling too good right now.

3:30pm: I got home from work around 30 minutes ago. At around 12 I had half of a shake, I couldn't get any more down. I don't know why I felt so lousy but I'm alright now.
I decided to roast some cashews and almonds in case I ever wanted like a small snack during the week. Usually I just go into the container and grab a bunch but not this time. 
I weighed out 2oz of raw cashews and 2oz of raw almonds and put them in a bag with a little water. Then I added 1/4 tsp of smoked paprika, chili powder, curry powder, and 1/8 tsp of cumin and black pepper. I roasted them at 300F for 20 minutes and took them out. After they cooled down I put them into little lunch bags weighing in at 1oz each.



I'm going to go grocery shopping, doing something different for dinner tonight. I'm pumped! 

7:35pm: Oh man, dinner was so good! For awhile burritos, fajitas, and tacos have been up there with my all time favorite foods. Tonight I decided to make tacos within the limits of my diet. Who says you can't have tacos and be paleo at the same time?!

I took 1.4lbs of ground beef (10% fat 90%lean) and mixed it with 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp coriander, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper, 3-4 cilantro stalks, and half of an onion. I cooked it in a skillet for about 15 minutes on high. 

For the 'taco shells' I used iceberg lettuce leaves. You have to be really carefully when pulling them off so they don't rip.
I also topped my tacos with a tomato salsa. I diced 3 plum tomatoes, 1/2 of an onion, 2 cilantro stalks, 1/4 tsp black pepper, and lemon juice (1/4 lemon.)
My beef portion was 4oz even and I used some jalapeño sauce that I had in my fridge on my food. I served my tacos with half of a hass avocado, I think I'm so used to eating avocados that I almost didn't add that!

Day 50: Saturday

Another late morning for me! So I slept in today, as soon as I woke up I decided to get to work on some homework for next week.

Right now I'm eating lunch, I grilled some chicken and sauteed some broccoli. 
My chicken portion is 3.2oz.





In a few hours Courtney and I are going into Boston to meet up with some friends for our friend's birthday. I believe we're going to Zuma to eat, which is good because I've eaten there before and their food isn't too bad for my diet. I'll probably end up getting the same thing I got last time because it was pretty good.

9:45am Sunday: I really need to stop going to bed as soon as I get home. I got home around 11pm last night and I was really tired so I went to bed. I ordered a half barbequed chicken with summer squash for dinner, I asked if they could go easy on the barbeque sauce and the waitress said fine.


A few friends and I ordered some margaritas, I haven't had alcohol in awhile so why not? 


We also went to Mike's Pastry in the North End and I got a cannoli, I couldn't even get half of it down. All of this just means I have to work that much harder this week.

Day 49: Friday

Good morning! I woke up earlier than normal today because I want to get to work asap. It's iPhone day! I can't wait to pick mine up.
Right now I'm having a lean body shake for breakfast before I head out the door.  

12:10am Saturday: What a long day! So I got home from work at around 11:45am yesterday (technically.) I took a quick shower, got dressed, grabbed 1.5oz of raw almonds, and head out the door! I picked up Courtney then came home and ate some leftover broccoli from the other night that was in the fridge. After that I had to bring my car to the shop because I was having a problem with it but got it fixed quickly. Then Courtney and I went to the mall to get our iPhones, we got there at 3. It only took 10 minutes to activate mine but something was wrong with Courtney's wireless provider so we ended up being at the mall until around 6:30. 

We went back to my house and played with our phones for a bit, we walked my dog, and I grilled up some chicken then served it with raw spinach. My chicken portion weighed 4.4oz. 


After that I decided that I wanted to try to make a dessert-like food within the means of my diet. So Courtney and I went to Trader Joe's and picked up the following things:

Bananas
Chia seeds
Pumpkin puree
Unsweetened Almond milk



We got back to Courtney's house and went to work. Originally I found a recipe for this pumpkin 'parfait' but the way we made it was almost like it was a shake.

So we took half of a banana, 1/4 cup of pumpkin puree, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice then tossed it in the blender. We added 1 cup almond milk gradually as it blended. Courtney topped hers with some graham crackers.


It was pretty good for something without added sugar.

Day 48: Thursday Weigh In

Good afternoon! Sorry for such a late post today. I woke up late and had to run a few errands. I skipped breakfast again, oh well. Anyways, right now I'm having a lean body shake for lunch. 


I'm pretty pumped for dinner tonight, I'm doing stir fry for the first time and I'm gonna work in some mushrooms again. I need to get used to their texture.

I'm nervous for my weigh in today. I'm just so used to losing 3-4lbs a week that I feel like if I lost less it's almost like it's not an advancement. I know it is, but I just wanna get to my goal weight as soon as possible. Wish me luck!

5:30pm: Just got home from training! There was some serious traffic on the way back. 
Alright so I'm gonna post my weight progression for today then I'll post my weight. Next to my reps I'm going to start posting my progression/regression on my last working set from the previous week.

Weights:
Squats:
135x10x3 +15lbs from 9/13

Lunges:
40x6x3 +5lbs from 9/13

Crunches:
5x20x2 no increase

Weigh in time! So I'm starting to slow down a little, but that's to be expected. This week I lost 2.5lbs. In the picture it shows me at 259 but when I had my phone in my hands it wouldn't stay still so let's just call it 259! Finally in the 250 range. I've never lost this much weight before, last time I tried to lose weight (2009) I got into the mid/high 260 area. This is great!

7:55pm: Just finished eating dinner. I made stir fry with beef, mushrooms, onion, and bok choy. I marinated the beef with 3 tsps of coconut aminos, 1 tsp of sesame seed oil, 1 tbsp of minced garlic, 1 tbsp of chopped ginger, and 1/2 tsp of crushed red pepper.

It came out pretty good. My beef portion was 4.3oz.

Day 47: Wednesday

Good morning! I'm having a shake for breakfast before I head out to work in like 10 minutes.

11:50am: Right now I'm having a spinach salad with avocado and some shrimp from last night. The shrimp weighed in at 4.2oz.


4:20pm: I got home from training around 20 minutes ago and had a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. 

Weights:

Pullups: 2 thick black bands x10x2
x5 (had to actually put my chin on the bar)

Dumbbell row:
62.5x8 (I was feeling a pull at the top of my right arm, so I had to stop and lower the weight)

8:15pm: For dinner tonight I kept it simple and grilled some chicken and served it with steamed broccoli and a 1/4 slice of avocado. My chicken portion was 3.7oz.
