Day 28: Friday-Weigh In Day

Good morning. Today is weigh in day! I'm a little nervous because I stayed at the same weight last week. But anyways, we'll see. I'm having a shake for breakfast before I go to work.

4pm: Just getting back from training and man am I psyched! So for the last two weeks I weighed in at 277lbs. Well today I weighed in at 269lbs, Shawn thinks that last week I did lose weight but I just had some water weight from that calamari.
Either way, this is awesome. In 31 days I've lost 26lbs, my goal weight almost feels like it's tangible.
After training I had a half portion Lean Body shake.

Oh yeah!
Originally I had told myself that when I get to 270lbs I was going to have myself a nice plate of Dominican rice and beans, one of my all time favorite things to eat. But I kind of want to hold off on that because I don't want to go backwards. Like Shawn told me earlier, "Don't go poppin' the champagne yet." I heard the apostrophe! I think I'm gonna have a ton of collard greens for dinner, mmmmm.

7pm: Right now I'm eating dinner, I have some collard greens, 1/4 of an avocado, and 4.4oz of grilled chicken breast with some paprika, chili powder, black pepper, cumin, and oregano. I also put some lemon juice on the collard greens.


10pm: Just got a little hungry so I had a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. Mmm.. :|

Day 27: Thursday

Good morning! Man, I slept so long last night. I feel great.
I haven't eaten breakfast yet but I'm thinking of something along the lines of eggs, turkey bacon, and a heaping portion of raw spinach.

10:45am: At around 10 I made 2 eggs over hard with one slice of turkey bacon and a handful of raw spinach. I put some chili powder and black pepper on my eggs.
I decided to cut out one slice of turkey bacon because of the sodium. Plus I'm pretty full so it works out. 

2:15pm: I just made myself lunch. I made a salad with some lettuce, spinach, 5 cherry tomatoes, 1/4 slice of avocado, 1tsp of olive oil, and 4.7oz of chicken breast.



6:25pm: I just finished eating dinner. I sauteed some garlic, ginger, broccoli, and shrimp then added some crushed red pepper, paprika, and some slivered. After that I served it with some steamed bok choy. I had 3.2oz of shrimp. It was pretty good.

Day 26: Wednesday

Good morning! Right now I'm having a shake for breakfast, pretty soon I'm going to start getting ready for work.

1:15pm: I got home from work not too long ago, I made a salad with spinach, 4 cherry tomatoes, 1/4 slice of avocado, 3.6oz of grilled chicken, and 2 tsp of olive oil.


4:25pm: Just got home from training, had a half serving shake around 4:15. 

9:55pm: Sorry it took me so long to update, I've been out and about. I just got home from food shopping.
For dinner I had 3.2oz of chicken breast, one scrambled egg with spinach, and a quarter slice of avocado. 

Man I am so tired right now. Early bed time for me tonight, updates tomorrow!

Day 25: Tuesday

Good morning! As usual, I'm getting ready to go to work. So this morning I made 2 hard boiled eggs with a handful of baby spinach. I didn't feel like having a shake this morning.

12:45pm: Right now I'm eating some leftover collard greens with a little lemon juice on them and a 1/4 slice of avocado for lunch. 

I love collard greens so much. I definitely need to buy some more when I go food shopping this week.

3:25pm: Just got back from the gym, ran on the elliptical for a little bit. I'm having a half serving lean body shake right now. 

7:15pm: I ate dinner around 7pm tonight. I had sauteed beef with onions, tomatoes, garlic, 1 tsp of chili powder, and 1 tsp of paprika. Less than 1tsp of olive oil was added to the pan to keep the beef from sticking. I served it with some steamed broccoli and a 1/4 slice of avocado. I had 3.7oz of beef.

In an hour I'm going to go for a walk with Erik.

Day 24: Monday

Good morning. Just getting ready for work, had myself a shake for breakfast.

1:40pm: I got home from work not too long ago, heated up a good amount of that leftover green cauliflower from last night and served it with a 1/4 slice of avocado.
I didn't really feel like making any meat, running low on chicken and I'm not going grocery shopping until tomorrow Wednesday.

4:26pm: Just got back from training. Shawn had a few notes that he took on my eating habits that I'm going to correct in the future.
1. Obviously the calamari I ate last Wednesday.
2. Marinades, even though all of it doesn't get absorbed into the food, some of it does which could increase sodium/sugar.
3. Prepackaged items with a shelf date over a week, because in order to stay good they have to contain preservatives.
4. No more Splenda with my cottage cheese. Just the presence of sweetness actually raises insulin levels, not just sugar.

Oh, and I'm drinking a half serving of a shake right now. Half vanilla, half strawberry. :D

Probably making collard greens with chicken for dinner, not 100% sure though.


7:57pm: I finished eating dinner not too long ago, I ate 5oz of grilled chicken breast with a 1/4 tsp of chili powder, 1/4 tsp of paprika, 1/8 tsp of cumin, and 1/8 tsp of black pepper. I ate it with some collard greens, 1/4 slice of avocado, and a 1/4 slice of lemon for the collard greens and some for the chicken.

Day 23: Sunday

Good morning! Right now I'm having a shake for breakfast before I go to work. Yeah, that's it though.
When I come back I'll post my lunch.


1:43pm: Just got home from work, made myself a salad with mesclun, some left overs from my shrimp/broccoli/pepper/onion dinner the other day. Couldn't finish the whole thing. Only 1oz of shrimp on it. Definitely couldn't finish the whole thing.

5:43pm: At around 5:10pm I had a half cup of cottage cheese with a half packet of splenda and cinnamon. I didn't think I'd be able to make it until dinner without eating something, so I had that. 


8:15pm: Just finished eating dinner. I had 2.4oz of grilled chicken breast, broccoflower ( it's just green cauliflower ), and a 100 calorie pack of guacamole.
Unfortunately, the picture got corrupted for some reason. Second time this has happened, damn!

Day 22: Saturday

Good morning! Just a few minutes ago I made 2 eggs over hard with a 1/8 slice of avocado and 2 slices of turkey bacon. I was playing with a new pan I bought yesterday so I kind of browned the eggs a little :(

I don't know what I'm doing today but I just want to be outside for the majority of it.

11:24am: I'm going for a run in a bit with Erik. I'm just updating because yesterday I found out what I want my goal weight to be and I just forgot to add that here. I want to be at around 210lbs, that's pretty reasonable. I don't want to be like skinny but I don't want to be fat. If I don't like it when I get there, I'll adjust accordingly. 

1:40pm: Just got back from running, I had fun. Right now I'm having a lean body shake. 
Almost empty :(

I don't know what I'm making for dinner tonight, I should figure that out.

8:52pm: I just got home from dropping Erik off, we hung out for a bit. I ate around 6:50pm today. I grilled some chicken breasts and sauteed broccoli with a handful of slivered almonds with some ginger sauce. I also served my food with a guacamole 100 calorie pack. I had 4.8oz of chicken breast with my food. It was good!

In a bit I'm going to have a little snack, I took a half serving of the lean body powder and mixed it with a tiny bit of water to kind of make a pudding out of it. My trainer Shawn recommended that to me awhile back so I'm gonna try it because I'm a little hungry.

Day 21: Friday Weigh In

Good morning. Today is my weigh in, can't wait to see how much I've lost since last Friday! I have to go to work soon so I'm going to make myself a shake and then head on out.

12:30pm: I got home from work about 15 minutes ago and I just finished eating lunch. I had 3.1oz of leftover steak from last night with a 1/4 slice of an avocado.
I didn't take a picture of the food weight, totally forgot to.
I have training in about 2.5 hours, excited to see how much I weigh in at as always. I wonder what I'll make for dinner tonight..


5:12pm: Just got back from training. Unfortunately, I didn't lose any weight since last week.

Looks like that calamari on Wednesday kicked my ass. I'm obviously a little bummed out but I'm not going to let that bring me down. Just more motivation to go twice as hard. I need to make a few small adjustments to my diet.
I'm gonna go make dinner! Pictures and updates after I finish cooking!

5:46pm: Just prepared my plate, I sauteed some shrimp with broccoli, red/orange peppers, onions, and 2 tablespoons of that red pepper sauce I have then served it with a 1/4 slice of avocado. I measured out 3.1oz of shrimp for my plate. 


It's pretty good, this is one of my favorite things I've put together hence why I keep making it haha. I'm gonna go out for a bit though.

Day 20: Thursday

Good morning, I'm updating now because I just got back from helping Courtney move in.
I got up at 7:20am this morning and had a shake around 8 for breakfast.
Haven't eaten lunch yet but I will soon. I'll probably have a salad somewhere or something because I have to go out for a bit, only came home to update and grab something. 


2:12pm: Just got back home, went to Sal's Pizza with Erik. I grabbed a Greek salad with chicken. It was one of the only things I could really eat, with the exception of the feta of course. I didn't touch the carrots though.


6:10pm: Just finished making dinner, I'm like not really that hungry though. That salad really filled me up. I'll try to eat around 7. I made steamed snowpeas (finally finished the bag!) and some steak with caramelized onions, I didn't add any additional sugar or anything other than what was in the marinade for the steak. I'll post pictures once I eat!
I'm also going to start BOLDING the times at which I update to make it easier to find updates. BOLD!

7:45pm: I'm eating right now. 4.6oz of steak with snowpeas and a slice of avocado. It's soooo good. 



I'm gonna finish up here and go out for a bit. Night!

Day 19: Wednesday

Good morning! This morning I'm actually not having a breakfast shake. Instead I'm having an egg over hard with two slices of turkey bacon. This is my first time eating turkey bacon, it's pretty decent. Obviously can't replace regular bacon but it's good.
 12:40pm: Lunch time! For lunch I grilled a 3oz piece of chicken breast and served it with steamed snowpeas ( I have a 2lb bag ) and a 100 calorie pack of Wholly Guacamole. Nutrition Facts for the guuuuuuuac:

I have training at 3 today and I'm going out to dinner with Courtney tonight, she moves back into her dorm tomorrow :(


4:30pm: Just came back from training, I didn't really feel like having a shake after my workout. I had a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese with some cinnamon and half a packet of Splenda. I don't mind the way cottage cheese tastes normally but I kind of wanted something sweet. Either way, it was pretty good. It looks hideous though.


10:55pm: Just finished getting ready for bed. Courtney and I went to Red Rock Bistro by Lynn beach for dinner. They gave us some bread with hummus, I took one piece of bread and scraped out the middle so I could use the edge to scoop the hummus. For some reason I thought that was easier than using a fork. We started off with some calamari which was nice, I got salmon for my entree with snowpeas and sauteed spinach. I couldn't even finish the salmon, I finished the peas and spinach but I just couldn't down the whole piece of salmon.


Anyways, I have to be up at 7am to help Courtney move into her dorm. Goodnight!

Day 18: Tuesday

Good morning! Right now I'm having one of my infamous breakfast shakes. I'm trying Peanut Butter Chocolate as a new flavor though. It's pretty good. I've been realizing that vanilla is just really tough for me to get down in the morning so I'm gonna try other flavors until I can find something.

Sorry about the shaky camera on the Nutrition Facts. Definitely not going through the trash to retake a picture, sorry. :P
I'm gonna head to work soon, updates when I get home.

1:51pm: So I'm just getting back from work, I just cooked myself a late lunch. I'm eating a grilled 2.8oz piece of chicken breast that I marinaded with cumin, black pepper, paprika, and garlic salt with some smoked almonds and steamed snowpeas.

I have no idea what I'm doing for dinner but I guess I'll play it by ear. Updates later!

7:20pm: Just ate dinner, man was it good! My mother helped me prepare dinner tonight which was really cool because I haven't really cooked anything with her since I started my diet. Anyways, we sauteed some chicken breast with garlic, onions, spinach, and all the spices I marinade my chicken with and served it with steamed broccoli and a few small pieces of avocado. I'm pretty full!
I had 4.1oz of chicken with my meal.
Right now is the part where I get really bummed out because I took a picture of my plate but didn't save it. Agh! It looked so good too! Sorry :(
Anyways, I'm gonna go to BJ's and walk the beach with Erik.

10pm: Didn't end up walking the beach, but Erik was interested in the MRP that I use because he doesn't have time to bring food to work with him so it works out. Whether he likes it or not is a mystery though. I'll find out soon.

Day 17: Monday

Sorry for such a late post! Since around 10pm last night my internet wasn't working and I just fixed it.
At around 9am this morning I had a shake then went to work. Right now I'm just eating lunch which is an odd combination of 1.5 beef patties, a tomato, half of an avocado, and 2 tsp of olive oil. It isn't bad, I didn't feel like actually cooking so I just grabbed whatever and went to work on it.
I have training at 3pm today and I'm going food shopping afterwards, I plan on making something new tonight for dinner!

7:48pm: Just ate dinner. Tonight I used a recipe from Mark's Daily Apple.
I only switched out Coconut Oil for Olive Oil because I didn't have any. It was pretty good, but I cooked the beef too much and had to use like some barbeque sauce ( I didn't use a lot ) to eat it. I served it with some sauteed peppers and onions. I ate about 3.8oz of beef.
